@1: Not necessarily. In the Queen Charlotte Islands (and one could assume other places) runoff from the cedar groves have stained a lake a very similar brown/red. Pretty awesome swimming experience, really.

"Flickr Photoshop of the day" is like saying anything outside of realism photography isn't art. Just like how digital photo files are processed, film negatives are processed and tweaked to fulfill the artists image. Don't be a moron, I think it's a great photograph.
