you do realize
the minute by minute
poll updates are
excruciatingly boring
and
irrelevant,
don't you?.....
2
You know Rossi doesnt really want the job when several other Republicans had to step aside in the primaries, to allow Rossi to enter.
3
This baby is so close, if the numbers are outside the margin of error, I don't think you can trust it.
4
538 still has Murray with a ~75% chance of winning.
5
ALL the polls show a slight Murray lead after adjustment. The adjustment necessary for this poll is to throw it in the trash.
6
Where is the Stranger election guide? Can't find it on the website.
7
I don't get the philosophy behind partisan polling. Wouldn't a poll indicating that type of lead risk motivating some GOTV for the Dems? On the flip side, does this convince some slob in his trailer in Sumner not to bother getting out of the lazy boy on Nov. 2nd since its in the bag for his tea beggers? Not that stupid, counter intuitive tactics are something new to repubs, but still... what is their reasoning?
8
The union thugs will be out in full force to ensure a Murray win. They will do anything for power and money, even if it means bringing WA state or the country down in financial ruin.
9
I find it reassuring that the left has its own thugs gettin sh-t done. Viva union thugs!
10
I am shocked that the really old white people who are at home and answer their unscreened land lines are in favor of an America-hating Republican like Comrade Rossi.

Not.
11
@10, well ... I'm an exception at least.
12
@8 "The union thugs will be out in full force to ensure a Murray win."

You realize that 38 of Washington's 39 counties vote by mail, right? Do you mean that unions will be singing show tunes or something, or hiding in my mailbox?
13
longball @7, I think the idea is that people like to vote for the winner, and there's a group of people who will change their vote to be part of the winning side. That's more important to them than group identity by ideology.

You know how FiveThirtyEight has always shed so much light on politics and polling? Like you see these heaps of conflicting data and you don't know what it all means and all these pundits just talk and talk? And then Nate Silver breaks it down and lays it out for you so it makes real sense? And when the votes are counted, it turns out Silver was right far more often than not?

Everyone knows what I mean here.

The Stranger's political reporting is the exact opposite of FiveThirtyEight. The anit-FiveThrityEight, as it were. On a number line we would graph it as -538.
15
@8: i don't even know what a union thug is. and neither do you.
16
Union thugs come from Central Casting, Mr. Solomon. Surely you have some idea how movies are made?
18
As Baby Fix would say, Comrade Rossi is Toast.

Burnt toast.

And not the good stuff that Mommy Fix makes.

I was watching Glee with the roommate the other night and Rossi was hitting the political ads hard throughout the broadcast. I was wondering about that but came to the conclusion that they must be trending down in the fag-hag demographic.
20
@6: The guide will be in next week's paper, and online starting Oct. 13.
21
@19: I've noticed the same thing while watching Glee. I'm going to do a (legally binding!) Slog poll at some point to determine exactly demographic people think Rossi is going for with that ad buy.
22
Republicans are being dishonest leading up to an election.
What else is new?

Today, sixty-five Republican pollsters also disclosed bathroom-exit-poll results that say 65% of Republicans think Dinorossicus Obtusis has an I.Q. higher than 65.

Actually, his I.Q. is 6.5, the same as his shoe size, hat size, waist (in feet), height (in meters!) and number of human ancestors (dating back to that "Let There Be Light" thing, so that's really not very many). He also uses 6.5 rolls of toilet paper ("TP", like that party of nitwits) each day, but that's another story.

There's lies, damned lies, and poll results.
24
uugh, really?! this sucks
25
Murrays lips get small and tight, she turns red, then she starts to quiver in anger. I hope Dino wins. He looks so much more calm and friendly then then that ol' gal.
26
Republican Poll = Big Fat Lie. Kind of like Rossi announcing his gubernatorial victory. LMAO

Rossi's loss to Gregoire is the reason why I'll never vote for another Democrat at any level of office ever again. Kept recounting the vote until she won, the Democrat legislature confirmed her, and the court summarily dismissed the challenge of voter fraud (dead people, criminals, and such) as not rising to the legal definition of fraud. When a Republican screws up, he's skewered by his party and thrown out of office. If a Democrat screws up, they circle the wagons. And they'll force any independent-minded Democrat who happens to get elected to hold the party line. I'll never vote for another Democrat again. I'm not pro-Republican, just staunchly anti-Democrat. Here's to hoping we throw Murray's sorry a** out of office this November, along with others of her ilk.

It's been very interesting to read all the comments. What I mostly got is that most people are still in the party mentality. I am neither Dem nor Rep because they are so much the same as far as the direction they are taking this country. I don't know much about Teabaggers except that Democrats tend to put them down...probably mostly out of fear than anything. I challenge anyone patient enough to read this to look for the truth, endeavor to not be biased, see the inequities. I personally think all incumbants should be voted out. Politics...unfortunately, is the bedfellow to favors and trades. Have you ever noticed how long term politicians seem to think the voting populous is a bunch of idiots? They must think we don't recognize the lies. Envision an America where our personal lives and our morals are not legistlated. Envision an America where we can be prosperous, industrious, inventive and free. Not controlled, dictated to etc.

Please wait...
