The government uses secret zeppelins - they call them Invisible Dirigibles - which are radar-transparent and filled with lots and lots of explosive Helium.

Up here in Vancouver the Georgia Straight gives a lot of sympathetic coverage to the 9/11 Truthers, sadly. They posted this video last week as if it were the smoking gun. I wish the movement were a lot more marginal, but journo hacks like Travis Lupick keep trying to give credibility to the truthers. Lame.

I do believe that the Bush administration was complicit in 9/11. I think it's ridiculous to speculate on rigged explosives, etc, when all they had to do was *absolutely nothing.* Al Qaeda was putting all their resources in attacking America, and all they needed to succeed was for the pressure from America to let up for a few months. That's what Bush did, and voila: 9/11.

You may call me a fool, but I'm just going on the public record, and what is known. The WH de-funded the FBI's anti-terrorism wing, forced the CIA to put Al Qaeda on the back-burner, and ignored any information coming in that there was an imminent threat. The only other option would be that everyone in the Bush administration was a total incompetent. There's certainly good arguments for that, but I don't buy it. Sure, W has nothing but cheez-whiz between the ears, but Cheney is a malevolent monster of another sort. Whatever else he is, he's not an idiot.

But even if I *did* accept the argument that everyone in the WH in 2000/01 were complete idiots, it still makes them complicit in the attack, for they were empowered to prevent it & they didn't. The only argument to make against that is that they couldn't have prevented it, and that's where the TRUE "fucking idiots" come forth.

you all may want to put a tinfoil hat on me, but one thing to consider is why the 3rd firefighter, who was quiet the entire time, suddenly chimed in with: "any of these buildings could blow up at any second". That's something you'd only say if you were under the impression that source of all those subsequent explosions were actually from explosives, not the loud sounds of a building collapsing.

@22 I had the same bullshit line about building 7, but I look at the wikipedia now, and I guess time is what it needed, because now I see there was a piece of building that knocked into 10 different floors? I totally get that fire alone doesn't cause a steel structure to fall, but that plus derbies larger than my home puts it well into the probability range.

Furthermore, it's pretty clear that the official investigation was incomplete and intentionally neutered, and failed to probe a lot of places there should have been probing.

Of course a lot of truthers are idiots, but I blame the Bush administration for the fact that they exist. Everything about their role stinks to high heaven, but it has nothing to do with black 767s or death rays.

@33: Actually, the Clinton administration had collected a great deal of intelligence suggesting that Al Qaeda was planning a major attack, and specifically suggested that airliner hijackings were likely to be involved. When Bush took office, his people were given the intel and told it was urgent. They promptly proceeded to ignore the threat.

This is a dumb, sarcastic article that lacks any substance. Debunkers can't debunk the science behind the controlled demolition theory, and the pile of evidence that backs it up, so they resort to tired tin foil hat cliches and invective. If anything, it's the anti-truther movement that is stagnating. The Facebook page, People United Against Crazy 9/11 Conspiracy Theorists, has 300 members which means it has added one new member since 3 days ago. The Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth Facebook page has 21,511 members today and that represents a gain of about 250 since yesterday. Also, those of you who agree with 19 are believers in the LIHOP (let it happen on purpose) conspiracy theory which is also counter to the official 9/11 Omission Report conspiracy theory. Loose Change isn't the only documentary to challenge the official version. I (and I suspect overwhelmingly, we) know that.

And I don't "believe in" anything. I think there is evidence for a number of things counter to the official version, including what 19 brought up.

The main problem is that so many people- from "hologram planes" truthers to "la la I can't hear you" folks who lap up the official findings even though they're so flawed- decide what they believe, then hold sacred any evidence that might support it, while disregarding any that might contradict it.
