It Gets Better Project T-Shirts

1
How chic! Of course, as a gay over 40 I shall have my seamstress convert this to an enyouthening ringer T.
2
3-4 weeks for delivery? Damn!
3
I suppose this would be classier than either my "Pumpkin Pumpkin Peter Eater" or my "Blew Boy" t-shirts.
4
Christmas gifts solved.
5
Aw man, you're totally selling out.
6
Finally, the core behind all of this, $$$$avage....
7
If you require a phone number, would be nice to let me note that text messages only apply... hope you have no need to call me!

("What?" "What?" "What?")

In any case, looking forward to my tshirt!
8
gus, we can just trim the necks out, a la Flashdance...remembuh?
9
So, here's hoping this shirt comes in "extra-medium" :)
10
Projection, @6.
11
Canuck, I HAVE LEG WARMERS IN MY CLOSET RIGHT NOW.
12
@6 i really don't think this is a for profit project.
13
Got one for the boyfriend and will get one for myself if there are some ladies styles later ;)
14
Hoping for a couple more styles in the future - long-sleeved and ladies' cut especially. But great start!
15
@6 - Loveschild, honey, we both know you can troll better than that. Are you feeling okay?
16
You do not, gus! I refuse to believe you! You know what I do wish I still had? My 300 black rubber Desperately Seeking Susan bracelets. And buttons, my "Depeche Mode" and "Flock of Seagulls" buttons, sigh.

BTW: Dan needs to make bracelets! It'd be cool if there were a cheaper option (not for fund-raising, but for visibility), and a way to distribute rubber bracelets to kids in schools, as a show of solidarity. Hey! Why not partner with American Apparel, and have them sell bracelets? (Okay, shutting up about the bracelets, now...)

When we finally get these, we could have a "where are you wearing your shirt" post.... :)
17
@8, @11 AUGH 80's FLASHBACKS *flails*
18
IGBP lists the Iola Foundation which is indeed locatable under the online search for 501c3 organizations. Generally, you can deduct donations made to these organizations, and if you purchased something, you can deduct the amount left over after you remove the fair value of the item. So let's say a tshirt has a fair value of $10, you should be able to deduct up to $20 from the purchase, but check with your tax accountant as the laws vary from state to state.
19
In a fit of nostalgia, I purchased some Little Miss Matched legwarmers last year. As the name implies, they don't match. But that doesn't matter! I can still dance! And they have pom poms!

Ahem.

I bought the shirt, shut up.
20
@10 Reality. I urge you to give it a try, unless you like being swindled.
21
@20 You're not on game, Loveschild. Your grammar is supposed to be worse, and you don't respond directly to criticisms...go back and read the manual, because whoever is playing you today needs to try harder.
22
It appears the Loveschild handle has a new operator. Who is it from the committee today?
23
@6 Loveschild,
That's quite a feat of mental gymnastics to reach that conclusion.

Dan Savage's get-rich-quick scheme:
1. Wait for crisis to foment
2. Post video addressing crisis
3. Wait to see if video catches on
4. If so, design t-shirt around video (because t-shirt salesmen are the wealthiest people around).

Yeah, you can tell Dan's all about the $ by the jewelry and fancy clothes he wears all the time.

Try again.
24
@23 are you saying Dan doesn't tra-la-la down Broadway like Liberace? Because I think that's what Loveschild just assumes everyone in Seattle does.
25
Go F yourself you hateful bitch. You wouldn't know the act or meaning of charity and compassion if it slapped you on the ass. Anyone who would allow the suffering of a child for their own agenda isn't worth my time. Be gone ole wicked one.

I'll take 3 of those Daniel-san. xoxox
26
.....but he *did* invent the T-shirt, Urgutha.....curiouser and curiouser....
27
Hahaha! Love the advice, @21!

I, too, would like a ladies' style shirt. The only time I wear t-shirts is to bed, and even that is rare. Give me a good style, and I'll be all about this shirt! :)
28
@26,
Oh yeah, I forgot about that... perhaps it really is a grand conspiracy that's all falling into place now? Just like Obama's mother having the foresight to get a forged Hawaiian birth certificate for him all those years ago "just in case" he became president one day.
29
@24: well, joe, if december has Santarchy, why not have a group Liberace-cha-cha down broadway the saturday after thanksgiving? think of the utter fabulousness!
30
i want a tank top
31
Is there a women's cut in the works?
32
I want to support the cause, and I want to proudly wear this t shirt because I was bullied as a teen and it does get better..(i was not bullied for sexual orientation but for my weight.) which brings me to my point.... I'm still fat.(but no longer getting bullied for it) And the shirt is not available in a 4x.
33
@26 I'm sure there's a plot in there if we dig hard enough!

I got a tshirt already, but if a ladies style comes out, I'll get that and give my first tshirt to a friend! V or boat neck, please, those crews are so strangulating :-)
34
Fucking huge kudos for having American Apparel make these, Dan.
35
You're discriminating against people who don't like purple! Hate crime!
36
I'd rather wear a shirt that says "Not all of us heterosexuals are homophobic pussies who like to gang up on gay kids."
37
American Apparel? Why? I would love to have bought these for my whole family but...that guy who runs the company is a prize sleazebag.
38
@37 They're one of very few companies that actually manufacture clothing in the States, instead of having it sewn by 15 year olds in China or Peru. Douchey CEO and over-sexualized ad campaigns aside...
39
Personally, I think the T-Shirt could/should be cheaper to promote exposure and awareness. For a bit more, I can buy a printing kid and make my own "It Gets Better" T-shirts.
40
@39: Buying children to do your printing is highly unethical.
