I always wonder what that concession call sounds like. After running vicious ad hominem attack ads for months on end, how can you possibly be gracious and courteous when calling to congratulate your opponent? Or is it just to be expected, and the winner doesn't hold it against them?

Nixon said we wouldn't have Nixon to kick around after the 1960 election where Kennedy spanked him. It turned out he would return and would be far worse ethically than he had ever been before, checkers was nothing compared to Cambodia and Watergate.

@42. It's better than that. It wasn't after losing to Kennedy in 1960 that Nixon said that. It was after his loss to Edmund G. "Pat" Brown--Jerry's father--in the 1962 California gubernatorial race. Then he went into hiding for awhile, licking his wounds and making some dough at Mudge Rose in New York, before re-emerging for the GOP Presidential nomination in 1968.
