Arts Funding Is A Red Herring

Ditto the periodic assaults on NPR and PBS funding. The budgetary savings produced by removing all funding for these things will forestall bankruptcy by approximately .025 seconds. People proposing these cuts as budgetary fixes are being disingenuous; The real objection to these programs boils down to an ideological or (occasionally) aesthetic distaste for the products of said funding.

We waste more bribing the Taliban to get fuel to our troops in Afghanistan than the entire arts funding for EVERYTHING in the US.

That's how small arts funding is.
"Planet Money" is awesome.
I wonder how much money does the Federal government gives to wealthy people so those wealthy people don't farm the land they own?
