People who think kids cussing is somehow edgy and cool are people who deep down inside think it's wrong for kids to cuss.

This video fails for the exact reasons the IGBP videos succeed: it's fake, they're sincere. IGBP: real people addressing a real issue. This video: attention whores whoring for attention in a way that's so unfunny that it makes me look away in embarrassment for them.

I think anything tbat gets this issue out there and noticed is a good thing. However, I ordered T shirts for my daughter and one of her gay buddies to wear at school, and it still hasn't arrived 7 weeks later...wish they'd put a little more effort into getting their shipping in gear!

Besides, if he's running an orphanage in Haiti, where the fuck does he find the time to take on BP and now anti-gay bullying? Color me pretty fucking suspicious.

@7: Oh, absolutely. But nobody's rejected by their parents for being straight, so this is not the right outreach program to ask. There are plenty of youth resources to help kids who have abusive or unloving parents; this one is just filling a gap that the others don't have the resources or the focus to attend to.

Even the slowest U.S. Mail shouldn't take more than two weeks to get anywhere in the continental U.S. Add in a couple of weeks to produce the shirts and you're looking at 4-6 weeks max to receive, process, produce and ship an order. Do you think someone who is so disorganized that they can't ship a t-shirt in two months is going to ensure the fraction of the cost they promise will be donated to the cause is actually reaching the people it's supposed to help?

You're better off making a donation directly to an organization like GLSEN, Trevor Project or Washington's own Safe Schools Coalition.

Not sure if you'll check back here, gus, but I decided to call and ask...order placed on Oct 20 was shipped Nov 13, and my daughter in BC just got it yesterday (just heard from her)! Yikes...anyhoo, love the new styles, and colours, just ordered a few more things in purple (wristbands, finally!) so will no doubt be able to wear them by Valentines Day...

PS... I did, however, get the first order I placed, which was a few pink FCKH8 buttons, which I tossed into the dash tray in my car. Couldn't figure out why the cute, young guy at the dealership was being so nice to me the day I got my snow tires on, and when I got into the car, saw the buttons there...aha... :)

I'm just as opposed to people roping their kids into a Tea Party protest out on Main St as I am to seeing kids this young doing this sort of video. I totally agree with the message, but I'm against people having their kids get involved with causes they're too young to really understand.

@17 But that's just what we hear from people who don't want sex ed that includes learning that gays exist taught to kids in the younger grades, at least that's what happened here in Ontario recently. If the kids in the video are actually the children of gay parents, then they are certainly familiar with the subject. And if they're not? If they just got hauled off the street and put in front of the camera because they're cute? Well, how young is too young to teach someone that it's bad to hate or discriminate? Personally, I think that lesson is best learned early, along with the other important lessons, like please and thank you and finish your peas.

@24: Homosexual behavior doesn't give 20% AIDS either. I've been running the numbers over and over, using the CDC's estimates from different years, and not a single calculation comes close to supporting what you're saying.
Heterosexuality is pretty damn unhealthy for you if practiced recklessly. It's as good a way as homosexuality to pick up herpes, hep C, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, crabs, or even the AIDS. And there's always the strictly heterosexual risk of getting preggers, which can be very taxing to the body and probably ruin your life if it happens before you're ready for it.

@25: Correlation does not imply causation. Just because gays are more likely to suffer from depression etc. does not mean that homosexuality causes that. In fact, the evidence points towards societal persecution being the main cause.

And the troll only thinks of the children when it comes to jamming his hateful and unscientific ideology down their throats; not when it comes to properly educating them on how the world works, or ensuring that they are cared for even if their parents can't or won't provide for them. The way you care about children is the way Syria and Iran care about the Palestinians: only as an excuse for bullshitting other people.

The CDC found that in 21 selected cities, 19% of gay or bisexual men had measurable levels of HIV in their blood. You seem to be claiming that one in five homosexuals OVERALL have AIDS, which is different from HIV infection, and is a very different statistic than that from only 21 cities. Additionally, the methodology of the CDC study was seriously flawed in that it tested only individuals who went to an STD clinic. Now THAT'S a self-selecting population if I ever saw one!
Your claim that homosexuality predisposes people to any sexually transmitted disease is rather laughable. Medical researchers have agreed time and again that irresponsible promiscuity is what will get you the clap. Remember, O Best Beloved, that Dan Savage is a proponent of responsible sexuality.
Glad to see that you're admitting that correlation doesn't imply causation, but you're still a bit fuzzy on a few key aspects. Correlation doesn't actually imply that one causes the other; they could share a common cause, or they could be entirely unrelated. You can often observe a strong correlation between the inclination of the rings of Saturn and the value of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, but damned if you'll infer any causation!
In this case, homosexuality predisposes people to persecution by religious groups, a known cause of depression and other psychological illnesses. And we're doing our damnedest to cut off than chain of causality, despite the whining of butthurt religious groups.

@35: One, I've already explained why the survey is unreliable for modeling statistics over the entire USA, due to its biased sample population. Two, having HIV is not the same as having HIV. 3 to 4 percent of gay men have AIDS nationwide; I've already run the calculations using several sets of numbers from the CDC. Assuming that the ratio of HIV infection to AIDS diagnosis is similar across all categories (a reasonable assumption), 5-7% of gay men nationwide are HIV-positive.
You really need to stop pretending you know anything about statistics.

A new Kaiser Family Foundation study found that 20 percent, or one in five, gay men who are sexually active have HIV. Forty four percent of those who tested positive said they did not know they had the virus. The study is based on tests and interviews with 8,000 men from 21 different U.S. cities.

The study says that overall, less than half of 1 percent of the U.S. population is infected with AIDS, but sexually active gay and bisexual men are affected at much higher rates.

@39, 40, 41: You just cited the same study three times. And the study is horribly flawed, if only because the entire population used was from an urban setting. Is it really that surprising to you that there's a high rate of HIV in major US cities? This says absolutely nothing about homosexuality, and a lot about urban culture and views towards safe sex.

@39,40,41: None of those articles are from the New York Times, as you claimed, and one of them isn't even from a news source. Also, you continue to equate HIV with AIDS. Also, I've run the nation-wide numbers using the CDC's own estimates for several years, and ended up with numbers much lower than you claim. Quit beating that dead horse.
