Colbert is one of the best satirists of the modern age.
As far as calling.... you can still call your own Senator, even if they already for repealing DADT. By adding to the phone list of support it just might further encourage them to lobby a little harder with their colleagues.
I have been trying Voinovich's (OH) number, but can't get through (busy signal, hopefully all Sloggers). While I keep trying, other Ohioans might want to try his direct line: 202-224-3353
Okay, I just tried to call from sunny southern California and couldn't get through either. I decided to call anyway just to make sure they know we're watching them and expect something to happen on this. I'll keep trying.
Gave up on the phone call (lunch is over--gotta get back to work). Here is Voinovich's webform, which I filled out instead: http://voinovich.senate.gov/public/index…
I was on hold forever and couldn't continue to stay on the line but I contacted Scott Brown through his website. C'mon fellow Massholes, make the call or drop a line: ScottBrownSenate.gov
Voinovich is a lost cause. He's an old fuck on his way out, who is still stuck in the cold war era. But still, I sent him a webmail last week, but I think I'll do it again.
There's a list of phone numbers for Voinovich at http://voinovich.senate.gov/public/index…. If you can't get through on one, you might be able to on a different one.
I'm thankful that I don't even have to worry about either of my wonderfully pro LGBT rights senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar (Amy does need a bit of prodding on some things though, just not DADT).
I tried calling the main switchboard number, but couldn't get through. The direct number to Senator Kirk's office is: (202) 224-2854. I was able to get through on that line a minute ago.

Dangnabbit. I live in Maine and am getting a busy signal with both of my Senators. Not that calling will do much good with Collins. I'll keep trying! This is too important!
@24 Finally got through. Staffer took down my zip code and said she'd pass it along. According to HuffPo, we might be getting the message across: http://goo.gl/DynLy
ROFLMAO!

I must admit that I was shocked that someone actually answered the phone. Tha's a first for me.
COME ON EVERYBODY, MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
