My 3 week old Kindle just died this morning.

The best part of Kindles is how they show all the new age comics and graphic arts panelists in all the shades of grey the original artists intended.

You know, who needs colorists when you've got inkers?

@2, some of us are not really interested in "new age comics and graphic arts panelists", whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean (panelists, eh?) There are all kinds of books that don't have any pictures in them at all. You should check it out sometime. Maybe you can get your kid to read one to you.

Color me skeptical. If you don't see many commuters using them on your ride to work in Seattle, of all places, there's no way they're hitting millions-with-an-"s". Millions of dollars in total revenue, maybe. But not total units.

@4: I see 4 or 5 on my bus just about every day.

@4: Also, I think you're going to see a lot more after Christmas. I've heard quite a few people say the lower prices convinced them to buy Kindles as gifts.

I just got one for Christmas, I love it so far. There is a huge selection of free books to download. I know several people who have Kindles - so I would guess they have sold a ton.
8
I use mine as a coffee cup holder.

Why should Amazon tell you how many Kindles they sell? Does Charlie's Produce tell you how many heads of lettuce they sell?

I just got one two weeks ago and so far it have been pretty impressed with it. It's not going to replace books but for your basic reading and newspaper delivery it works pretty well.

And yes; I read it on the bus.

I know of 3-4 being given as Christmas present this year in my fairly low-tech family
