Blood pressure, hell - he was a truly useful person. Dead sooner than he could have been, sure, but in the time he had he did way more than his share. How many of the most healthful among us could claim that?

Way to buzz kill, gus. I was just congratulating myself for getting the groceries put away.

And all my socks are paired and folded and put away, Canuck. The small graces are not to be sneezed at!

Stay classy, Brissey. This is a loss to our nation and it's efforts to bring diplomacy to the front of our foreign policy again. His passing could have been reported without your snark.
5
Oh good! Hey, my str8 against h8 pin and bumper sticker arrived, that's spreading a little good will!
6
@ danindowntown: What snark are you talking about, exactly? Don't project your shit on me.

I don't know whether RH neglected his health. He was certainly one of the lucky few who had the $$ get the best care available regardless of the cost. So if he didn't, it's all on him. He was a stupid bastard if he didn't.

Even in this day in age, there are still going to be some white males who die from aortic ruptures at the not-so- tragically young age of 69.

Even in the ideal world where everyone gets the best preventive care available there still will be a few people whose hearts and/or arteries give out much younger than 69.

But what's tragic about RH, is that he lived in the richest country in the world where half of us don't get what we need and half of those of us who do pay too much.

On the day he died, a federal judge overturned a key provision of the health-care law that might be a start.

Please somebody eliminate the four crazy fuckers on the SCOTUS who are sure to uphold the decision.

@7 You said it all. Richard Holbrooke lived a full life. Sure, 69 is young by today's standards, but I've known folks who died at a much younger age who were just beginning to make their impact on the world. The healthcare situation in this country is insane.
9
His last words implored us to end the war in Afghanistan. Git 'er done.
10
I loved his work as Mark Twain.
11
Brissey it does sound like snark.
12
No it doesn't.

Please wait...
