According to that story, he pulled a gun first, as well as creating an initial disturbance. It still isn't clear what happened, but it sounds like he came in there planning to use that gun. If the school security chief wasn't armed, the original shooter could have done a lot more damage.

They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way.

Interesting because a guy had to be escorted away from the podium at the last Seattle School district Board meeting by 3 security people. He was shouting he wanted to address the Board. Hmm.
