Let's see, we take a somebody else's trope and embroider, elaborate, rehash. Now, someone else take that, and repeat the process. Cling to the idea, and repeat it long after everyone else has moved on and you've got a "cult following." When you finally run out of variations to repeat, it's time for a "reboot," where you just do it over again with everything the same.
That seems to hit you over the head with it's humor. There was a similar pic on Reddit about a week ago that was much more subtle, and therefore more funny.
Does his waistcoat have one of those flaps that hides the buttons, or are the missing buttons one of the things we're supposed to find wrong with this picture of Daddy Warbucks?
