It's funny, the Teabaggers swear they're not racist, and even know a black person or something, and yet they blithely put forward nullification, as if it doesn't have a long history in these United States.

I'd argue that the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions don't really count, as they fell before Marbury v. Madison, leaving just the racial stuff.

@4, a fellow in a documentary I saw over the weekend was asked about the persistence among Southern whites of the civil war reenacting hobby.

He said something to the effect that he didn't mind them wanting to wage the Civil War all over again ever year, so long as the South just kept on losing.

@5, everything you ever wanted to know about Southern Confederacy buffs can be found in Tony Horwitz's "Confederates in the Attic". He travels around talking to them.

Tea Partiers are relentless defenders of the Constitution, except the parts they don't like. (Any amendment beyond number 2, basically. And they have profound reservations about number 1. )

But other than that, relentless defenders. States rights, woooooo!

Intrusions into the private sector like the auto bailouts have threatened the very core of the American free market.
Yes, saving the US auto industry and all those jobs - what a horrible thing that was. The free market is much more important!

I wonder how much money this guy is getting from Toyota.
