That's really a shame. Hidmo is a really unusual space and one hell of a valuable resource. Always warm and welcoming, there are precious few places in this town where old, young, black, white, latino, asian, hip hop, punk, poetry, dance people could hang out for many long hours together. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they find a way to reopen soon!

Hey Jen - just as a point of clarification, while the 20th and Jackson space is indeed closing its doors, the cause, aka the move to Washington Hall, is a HUGE step for Rahwa and the team. It's 110% bittersweet to see the familiarity of the Hidmo 1.0 head into the mists of time, but it's also 120% exciting that now the Hidmo will have the support and venue that WA Hall, 4Culture and Historic Seattle can provide. I guess I just want to make sure folks know that there's no need to cross fingers about "reopening" - the move is part of the plan. And yes, we do need Rahwa and the Hidmo family!

So, I'm guessing I can delete their FB fq then ...

We will certainly miss Hidmo in its current form but that is so exciting that they will be at WA Hall - I can't think of anyone I'd rather have in on the ground level there!!

So happy to see that this is a transformation and not an ending!
