there's no question that this proves that marijuana must remain a schedule 1 narcotic. if 'synthetic marijuana' can cause this, just imagine how dangerous ACTUAL marijuana must be.
This is what happens when you are ignorant of state law. If he didn't admit using drugs, he would have gotten a fine at most (if he was unlucky). The only thing that trumps WA state's legal protection of killing while driving is the war on drugs.
@2 there's no question that this proves that alcohol should become a schedule 1 narcotic. if 'synthetic marijuana' can cause this, just imagine how dangerous ACTUAL alcohol, which is far more readily available and socially acceptable, must be.
I saw that someone in an interview with a reporter mentioned Lipski's Subaru had bad brakes. I have been rear-ended by a driver who thought his brakes would work better than they did. I expect with the economy downturn lots of drivers are postponing important vehicle repairs or tire replacements.
Fnarf, please don't talk about that which you have no clue.
THC is not the only psychoactive molecule in marijuana, there are several others.
'Synthetic marijuana' can also be called 'synthetic cannabinoids' - ie analogs of cannabinoids other than THC that were developed to study the endocannabinoid system. K2 is just the most well known, containing the substance JWH-018. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JWH-018

It is cases like this where stupidity should be a crime. At the very least, extreme stupidity should be considered at the sentencing hearing.
I'm all for marijuana (synthetic or otherwise), but this guy is a total dumb ass, and deserves every minute he spends in jail.
