Uh... what does it mean for a storm to be inhuman, or human for that matter?

What's that? This is a Mudede post? Ok, never mind.

But no matter the size, they are the result of heat exchange and water. Their causes the same on earth as well as any other planet.

@2 Not always water, Vince. We got a sweet menthane cycle going on Titan.

And Charles, these storms "seem" to dwarf the ones on Earth because using reliable measuring tools, they factuall DO dwarf the ones on Earth. You could fit several Earths inside the Great Red Spot of Jupiter for fuck's sake. Why the hell say "seem"?

Yeah. In fact, it's probably much too cold there for water vapor to exist.

The main storm cell in the image is half the size of our planet, but if you take into account that stream of material spinning out from it, it's five Earths across. An Argentinian astronomer managed to tease out an approximate color image using the same data here...

See the very thin line at the midpoint of the image, above the bands of shadow cast across the planet? The Cassini probe actually snapped the shot from inside Saturn's rings...

@3 But Titan is primarily composed of water ice.

@6 Roger... but you were talking about the basis of weather systems, not the internal composition of the actual body.

Please wait...
