It's all just the biased lamestream media ganging up on her to skew the truth what real Americans want with their biased polling.
2
@1: You forgot about the gotcha! journalism.
3
LIPSTICK!

I don't think she is going to run, she is not going to hire a competent staff, let alone spend months at a time in fundraising..
5
Woof! That dog is all bark.

6
God that would be so freaking awesome if she ran.

Her schtick is getting old, even with people who nominally support her platforms. When I was home over Christmas, several of my relatives - salt-of-the-earth, blue-collar, social conservatives (a couple of whom had apparently even watched several episodes of "Sara Palin's Alaska") - expressed nothing but contempt for her; interestingly, it was her ineptitude in some of these episodes, such as Conroy describes in his post, that tipped them over.

These are people who DO in fact hunt for subsistence, and they were clearly turned off by the obvious lack of both experience and judgement she showed. My uncle even out-and-out called her a "damned phony", with the same sort of derisive sneer he usually reserves for Democrats, and politicians in general.

When NRA card-holding, game-tag-buying types start turning against her, you know her 15 minutes are just about over...
8
I'd love to see the results of a poll asking "Would you like to see the media stop incessantly reporting on all things Sarah Palin in a desperate grab for attention while consistently underreporting issues of actual substance?"
9
Is anyone else just waiting for her to throw her hat into the Republican primary, just to watch a dozen high-profile Republicans trip all over themselves to tear Palin apart?
10
Please, let the dog try.

I caught a few minutes last night. Might have been a repeat.

She was rock climbing, sort of. Surrounded by guides and tied to every safety device known to man, she was stuck, unable to move and wailing for Todd.

What a fraud this woman is.

@7 from now on, any politician that claims to be a hunter for the sake of their image (I'm looking at you John Kerry), MUST actually use a firearm on national television.

Who knows, if Dukakis had actually blown up a few wrecks at a monster truck rally with that 120 mm on the Abrams he was riding in, he might have won.

I don't know - a conservative relative (a charming and intelligent person in almost every way) was opining about how shocked/angry he was that the liberal media was so intent on hounding a "private citizen". There's still a lot of stupid out there when it comes to this woman.

That said, as much as I'd hate to hear even more from her stupid face every day, I'm hoping she does run. Palin/Bachman 2012!

Please. If the media weren't pretending to report on this particular non-news story, they'd pick something else just as irrelevant and distracting. Like the "success" of America's war on drugs.

mmmm... drugs.

I want to know about the question on the USA Today/Gallup poll that had 22% favorable, 7% unfavorable, and 71% undecided. Was it "Would Sarah Palin look good in ostrich-skin boots?"

From the Time article: "Palin and her staff have made a concerted effort to reach out beyond her core supporters in recent weeks, as the former Alaska governor has sat down for an increasing number of interviews with mainstream media outlets."

Seriously? have they seen this woman's interviews? That's gonna do more harm than good.

Sarah Palin doesn't appeal to small town Americans or subsistence hunters. She appeals to tubby, red state ex-urbanites who like to pretend to be self-sufficient denizens of small town America. It's exactly the same dynamic that gets Republicans votes in states with sky-high divorce and teen pregnancy rates.
18
For some reason, my mind saw "Sarah Palin" and "can't hunt" and somehow or other those two last words got sorta mashed together...

I can't say I disagreed at all!
19
@9 - YES.
20
Her polling negatives and the rising tide of Conservative critiques will probably dissuade her from making a run, alas. Then again, she seems to be exactly the kind of egomaniacal, living-in-a-bubble-of-yes-men type of person to forge ahead. If that's the case, it will be disastrous for Republicans--the more the "moderates" attack her for fear she is unelectable, the more raving her supporters will be. We'll wind up with either a Palin Repub candidacy (and likely a third party mainstream Repub challenge) or a tea-party candidacy headed by Palin, with a giant civil war underneath it all.

So knock it off, Dan! Start fluffing this piece of work.

The caribou hunt scene was totally phony. I'm no hunter but wouldn't the animal run away after the first shot was fired? It looked like it just stood there waiting to be picked off. Personally I think someone shot the caribou from off camera because it was obvious she didn't know how to shoot.

Please wait...
