What pleases me is not that I think we've heard the last of Michael Steele, but that I don't think we have, and now I expect him to be even crazier now that he's been fired.

As for the "i" before "e" rule, someone told me just this week that proper names usually violate it, and that following it is the exception to the rule.

Do you watch QI at all? On the show from a week or two ago they had a question about that rule and it led to a fairly hilarious five minutes. In short, there are so many exceptions to that rule that apparently schools no longer teach that rule.

I can't hear his name without thinking of Theodore Bikel's Satanic character in (I think) 200 Motels: Rance Muhammitz (note: Zappa was a _real_ equal-opportunity offender, a true misanthrope rather than the usual bigot-grasping-for-respectability).

Years before I saw the movie, I knew the name from Flo & Eddie's chanting it at odd intervals on some live show's muddy tape.
