Oh ye of little faith...

the Bears will score at least 9 more times in the next 3 minutes. Its not just this one touchdown.
2
can someone on the Seahawks catch the ball? please!
3
oh hell.. i'll do it.. i'll catch the damn ball.
4
BEAR DOWN!
5
BEAR DOWN!
6
What else is on TV this morning? This is brutal.
7
@ 6 'gidget''s on antennae tv followed by' the flying nun' and probably 'the monkees'
8
Seahawks lay yet another frozen egg. yawn...
9
GO BEARS!!!!!!!
10
Huh? The receivers are the problem here, at least through the first half. Hasselbeck's been great. If it bounces off the receiver's hands, that's usually not the QB's fault.
11
Totally pointless to ask Sloggers (largely ignorant of sports in general) the value of an NFL quarterback. Of course the Hawks should bring back MH. If your opinion is that they are lousy right now, they would be categorically worse with no NFL proven QB.
12
How is 'retire' not an option? It even rhymes!/dude hurts hip just walking around now.
13
@10, yeah, the Seahawk receivers have been terrible in this game. Matt's been better in the last two games than he was all season, but on the other hand, I think it is time for him to retire.
14
Ok, so let's see.

Unlike every other season, where the Seahawks are simply bad, they are incredibly bad the whole autumn, then they miraculously come back for a final game and a playoff game against last years SB winner only to raise hopes...get enough of the crowd re-rooting for matt hasselbeck to get a contract extension, only to go into the NFL spotlight looking like a used piece of Kleenex on the field.

Is that about right?

Did I miss something?

Please, speak up...
15
I vote for Elizabeth Hasselback as quarterback.
16
@15, it would be very satisfying to see a 350-lb steroid monster flatten her at full throttle every time she says something idiotic.
17
He's needed to go since he drove over to Bellevue to kiss GW Bush's murderous ass a few years ago. Fuck that shithead.
18
@ 17 - if you don't want to root for Republicans, the NFL is probably not your league.
19
@18: True. Same for all pro-sports, supported by government money (aren't Republiturds supposed to HATE that?)
20
Hasselback deserves better, and he should leave town to find it. He's an upper-quartile NFL QB, hamstrung by an O-line and receiver corps management picked up at Value Village.

He'll probably come back for more futility and punishment - but it'd serve Seattle right if he took his act down the coast to SF.
21
Hasselbeck isn't the best QB, but what's Brian's magical solution to who takes over? QB Jesus? Yeah, right.

Truth is, there is no solution that any of the Hasselhater's can come up w/, because their are none. Halfway through the 2014 season is the absolute earliest a SB-quality QB could show itself in Seattle. Period. Everybody's a critic, but few have solutions....
22
@17 FTW.
23
RonK - Favre is available, and he's just your type.

Dirty Sanchez just marched the Jets back into their 2nd-straight AFC title game, and he started game 1 as a rookie. Hags will be drafting a QB this year, and he will be The Anointed One.

Get used to it.

Re: the poll. I say bring Hasselbeck back. He'll lose the starting job to Whitehurst (who'll be playing out of his mind to beat a rookie we got in the draft - maybe Locker? Is it more than a sentimental pick?), and he'll help Clipboard Jesus and the rook develop. He'll make an incredible backup, especially since he plays so well when rested. I think his main problem is: he's aging, and he doesn't have an O line to keep him whole.
25
Did anyone voting actually bother to watch the game? Hasselbeck aim was fine, but our recievers kept droping catchable balls.

Or is this a "Lets fire him because Matt is a Republican" rant?
26
@ 23 -- How many of Hasselback's offensive teammates would start for Sanchez's Jets?

Answer: One ... maybe. (Their first-string RT is out with a bad hammy, and our Sean Locklear might - just might, on a good day - trump their high-quality replacement.)

And those Jets are underdogs to even make it to the SuperBowl, much less win it.

THAT'S HOW BAD IT IS. Will it get better? Not much, in the years #8 has left. Okung might or might not be durable enough to play a full season. Tate might or might not mature into a reliable teammate. Butler, Unger and others might or might not come back from injuries. Locklear might need replacement. Stokely will. Draft choices? We'll spend them filling holes on defense and prospecting for that QB Of The Future.

Reinforcements aren't coming. Hasselback should get the heck out of Dodge if he wants to lead a playoff team.

Please wait...
