No one in American or British intelligence believed Curveball at all. He was known to be lying from the start. Who knew begging for donations at the last minute wasn't a sustainable funding model for the 4th of July fireworks? I'm sure it'll still happen, but obviously they'll need to find some real funding soon.

@10, it's painful to think about Colin Powell's state of mind, period. He HAD to have known that the information he presented to the UN, about "yellowcake uranium" and other things, was bogus. He HAD to have. My belief is that he was so obedient, such a soldier in the end, that he did his Commander-in-Chief's bidding even though he knew it was disastrous and wrong. He'll go to his grave denying it.
