I thought Dick Cheney mailed them.
2
Oh, well, that's all right then. Someone let Ivins out of jail.

Oh ... wait.
3
so it's okay to question the official anthrax mailings story, but anyone who doesn't buy the official 9/11 story 100% is an idiot. got it.

@3

Yes. Just so. Not all fringe theories are dumb. And not all dumb fringe theories are equally dumb. Some are just a little fishy, and some are, well, 100% idiotic.
5
@1 for the totally correct win.

As everyone who knows anything is aware of.

Mind you, he did have help.

Science seems to have proven, though, that Bruce Ivins, who was suspected of being the anthrax mailer (and who committed suicide in 2008) did not do the deed.
Um, Paul? This is totally wrong, isn't it?

Nothing in the report exonerated Ivins - it merely concluded the flask analysis was less than definitive.

Um, Paul, no offense, but the science did not in fact "prove" anything about Ivins, either way. Did you even read the article you linked to? Go back and just read the headline. No wonder Slog's own writers and commenters spend all day "arguing" with each other over gross mischaracterizations of what they each write -- no one ever actually reads what the other is writing.

Here's the Cliff Notes, though you'll likely never read this:

"The scientific evidence alone is not enough to prove that microbiologist Bruce Ivins was the perpetrator of the anthrax attacks that killed five people in 2001."

Here is what the FBI said about the case:

"The FBI has long maintained that while science played a significant role, it was the totality of the investigative process that determined the outcome of the anthrax case."

Oops, RonK@6 beat me to it.

@3 At this point in history, even if we had irrefutable evidence that Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft, and Rumsfeld sat in the oval office with joysticks and flew the planes themselves, I'm not sure they'd even get a wristslap. The powers that be don't seem to give much of a shit about anything except posturing and gathering wealth these days. Not that I'm a truther.
10
@9 Cheney burned the Gitmo interrogation tapes in his "convenient" office fire, so you'll never see those either.
11
yea this is an incorrect reading of the article

Please wait...
