I dont really see a problem with this. What people do on their vacation is their business, if they want to foolishly help a their boss/friend (who has no problem paying for movers) move his stuff, they should be able to do so.

If they were on the clock, having originally gone to work in the office, only to leave for the rest of the day to help him move, then I can see a problem with that.

Kinison @1,

The issue here is whether they really "volunteered" or whether they felt in some way obligated, thus giving Reichert a private benefit from a public expense.

Goldy, I don't know you or Tim Keck, what your relationship is or how valuable you would be as a friend helping with a move.

But I have helped bosses, coworkers and subordinates move, off the clock, and I developed better friendships and camaraderie during those days than all the staff retreats and office lunches could ever give me. Plus, when I was moving, the karmic universe provided me with the help I needed.

Total non-story unless someone claims coercion.

It's only voluntary when he uses slave labor like his Chinese comrades do.

Figures. How many died because of his inaction on Ridgeway and his destruction of the budget for King County thanks to the Green River Killer?

Speaking of brown nosing, how much is the DCCC paying these days? I'm in the market for something AGITPROP-y.

monkey @5,

If the DCCC paid me for my services, I wouldn't have had to take a job here at The Stranger.

Anybody who would work for Reichert deserves what they get.

Reichert probably "paid" his movers by buying them a couple of Pizza Hut pizzas and Kroger brand beer. The money, of course, came from the gun lobby.

Please wait...
