If I had posted this to SLOG I'd have thought some readers would be familiar with Charles Willeford and mentioned it was his novel that was adapted for the above movie. All that indicates though is how much time I spent reading 20th-century English language novels and how little I know/understand target demographics.

Couldn't listen to a word he said because I was too distracted by his constant pacing from left to right, never back again, always going past the clown painting. He had to be circling the room, but the guy on the couch never turned his head. Why didn't he turn his head?
