Without fucking cause? Are they out of their minds? WITH CAUSE, YOU DUMBASSES! Otherwise we're on the hook for the remainder of her (and his) contracted salaries, and there's no WAY we should be. Their actions are the "feasance" trifecta: mis, mal, and non. Off with their heads!
4
Catherwood, I couldn't have said it better myself. Sheesh.
5
Considering the financial situation of the school districts in this state and the fact that the state will be clamping down as tight as it can on its legally mandated services to kids, if the School Board doesn't fire these two who wasted our money, we should all sit in, loudly, at their various high-priced offices or condos until they do.
6
Dismissing a superintendent or other high-ranking official Without Cause occurs when there are policy differences that can't be bridged, or personality conflicts that must be ended. But those are not the problems here.

The leadership deficits exhibited by these two, their lack of oversight of a program they knew to be troubled, their withholding of critical documents from the Board -- those are all Causes for termination.

Calling these dismissals Without Cause insults the English language. And it gives these two their Golden Parachutes, buyouts of their contracts at great expense to taxpayers.

Dismissing these people Without Cause glosses over the problems. It would deny the accountability the Board says it wants.

Ms. Goodloe-Johnson and Mr. Kennedy have earned their For Cause dismissals.

As much as I would like to see these clowns run out of town, paying them to leave is probably the cheaper option. What constitutes cause will depend on the details of their contracts, but unless they have personally raped or pillaged, they fact that they do not directly supervise this guy probably gives them enough of a defense to make the situation legally murky. That legal murky-ness could result in a court case that costs several times their salaries in lawyers' fees, and even then might be lost.

Here's hoping that Seattle Schools learns the lesson that giving carte blanche to ill-defined "racial and social justice" efforts is a recipie for corruption. Hey, I can always hope!

"giving carte blanche to ill-defined "racial and social justice" efforts is a recipie for corruption"

That will be tough in race obsessed Seattle where 8% of the population has you by your guilty white balls.
9
Kennedy has an extremely good lawyer. Everyone deserves some sort of representation but I can't imagine why this particular lawyer is representing this jerk, as he has an excellent practice representing people who are not jerks.
10
When I read through her employment contract I noticed that the term of the agreement expires on June 30, 2011. Why can't the school board simply let her contract expire without extending it? Wouldn't that save huge $?

this is rich . . .
