I bet Seattle would have banned plastic bags just like Bangladesh if we, too, had been found them clogging our storm drains during monsoons that flooded over two-thirds of our land, killing thousands and costing us tens of billions of dollars.

@5 or if they had not tried to impose a Tax on both paper and plastic bags, instead of just banning plastic bags.

A ban is workable, since there ARE replacements which do biodegrade.
