this is great but i think we need to get back to basics - stop trying to have an ideological war with religious/conservative zealots. the basic truth is there is a fundamental separation of church and state in this country and that needs to be remembered and reinforced. religious ideology and morality has no place in our government.
Boy, raindrop, you're really riding the purple-unicorn today, aren't you? What else is optional? Eating, breathing, wanting more out of life?
The simple fact is that we are ingrained in our DNA to have sex. It's easier to deal w/ reality in a practical way instead of thinking magic fairy/Jesus dust will miraculously take care of everything.
@11 has it in a nutshell. I'd be preaching to the choir if I said anything about unplanned pregnancy prevention being cheaper than the welfare "cure"...
This video is sooooo what I needed to see, after wave upon wave of bad news from the Republicans currently dismantling our government and 60 years of civil rights work. People are paying attention! People are using their voices! People are threatening to use their votes!!! Now if @ 12 will tell me where to get somma that magic Jesus dust all will be well in the world!
Planned Parenthood is not just about reproduction or sexual activity. They also provide basic women's preventative health care, including pap smears and mammograms. They're one of the few affordable medical resources that women without health coverage have.
People really need to realize how anti-woman this legislature is. Without federal and state funding for PP, many underprivileged women will simply go without medical care.
I know that I personally can't afford services since TakeCharge has been eliminated from our state budget. I've been on oral contraceptives since I was 15. Is it because I was a raging slut? Hell no. I suffer from menorrhagia, and hormonal birth control treats it. Of course, I'm just another woman in a long line of women that no one in power gives a shit about.
@ raindrop: Try to see beyond the tip of your nose.

Most of us happen to opt for yes in both cases.
