1924 was a good year.

It is an odd set of events, but it's certainly not an "Intiman" situation...Seattle Shakes prides itself on staying in the black every year. And, they've had a very successful season so far this year. Both Hamlet and Threepenny had excellent attendance, and Hamlet got rave reviews. The other two smaller shows did well, also.

In reality, Seattle Shakes is one of the most interesting and consistent companies in town, yet they take an occasional risk as well. Here's to hoping they find someone who can take them to the next artistic level, without breaking the bank.

I was in that 2005 production of Love's Labour... And let me tell you one thing, Ms. Shine may have been a problem, but ultimately it was horrible directing in general that did that play in.

Please wait...
