So they issue a press release, but then she objects to it being used as the basis of a news story. She's confused that an article would attribute reasons for the action based on a press release rather than an interview?
Question: what is anyone so incredibly and patently inept at dealing with the public and the press in a position like this?

It seems to be a requirement for management at the Seattle Public Schools: a complete inability to foresee eye-bleedingly obvious consequences. Gee, what a shock: take a principal beloved by his staff, the parents who send their kids to the school, and the selfsame kids, and fire him for no reason you're willing to share, and what do you think will happen? This isn't some Peanuts strip where we'll shuffle our collective feet and say something glum and accept the crap ladled over our collective head. It's the real world, and people scream their asses off when stupid shit gets done to them. Seattlites may be passive, but there are limits even here.
