So not surprised. Watching "Celebrity Rehab", I've never seen anyone more tightly held in the grip of his extreme addiction. That's two from that show, him and Mike Starr. I used to think it was fun to laugh at the pathetic stumbling creepos, but now I don't think I have the stomach for it.

Who's next, Shifty Binzer? Andy Dick?

FNARF maybe we can bond over our obviously shared love of horrible television like Celebrity Rehab.

I think Steven Adler was up there as well but pretty sure he is fairly sober these days... who knows really.

And nobody can deny Gary fucking Busey was the most insane person to ever step into the Pasadena Recovery Center. His acronyms made me die laughing.

I think he would have still been alive had he never been on Taxi.

In related news, Jeff Whoever was apparently alive...?
5
So sad! I truly loved him in Grease.
6
PS -- Dr. Drew continuing to tweet about his celeb former patients' medical conditions as they lay on their deathbeds is gruesome and ought to get his medical license pulled.
7
@ 6, anyone in the care of Dr. Drew most likely signed off on that. He probably wouldn't care for anyone who wouldn't.
8
Great publicity for Dr. Drew. He should renegotiate his contract ASAP.
9
Dr. Ruth is so wise, so rational, and he's been giving advice for over twenty years, maybe his whole life. He's there for us, us, the whole attentive lot of us, and we should be thankful for his authority.
10
ha ha, you're old.
11
@10 not nearly as old as has-been Savage. no that's mean. i watched the clip. used to enjoy Taxi. Since I'm more of a Mamet guy, I can see the parallel of the 'American Buffalo' stage presentation I saw at the time as a kid, a late 70s aura.
12
I liked Dr Drew back in the 90s during Loveline on KROQ... but yeah, now a days, he is pretty gross.
13
I hope you mean Dr. Drew and not Dr. Ruth.

Haven't watched the reality addiction show, but watched Taxi. Great show- in top 10-20 sitcoms all time. RIP Bobby.

Thanks for sharing the clip.

@2, I'd be happy to bond over Celebrity Rehab or Sober House as long as you don't spell my name in all caps.

Adler was pretty bad, but he looked worse because of the stroke that wrecked his speech. Busey was hilarious but pretty indestructible. My money's on Binzer.

I mean, what the hell is a guy like Binzer going to DO sober? That's the wild card with these people -- their "careers", which mostly don't exist. Eric Roberts and Tom Sizemore can probably find work eventually, but some of those others? The one I have pegged for OD or domestic violence death is Mary Carey -- she's a GONER, or possibly a GOMER, and surrounded by extremely dubious megacreeps.

Sad to see what happened to his life, but I always did love him on Bab 5.
17
Dr. Drew I-finally-have-my-own-show-where-I'm-on-air-100%-of-the-time-without-those-pesky-celebrities-to-upstage-me Pinsky should be embarrassed.
18
I didn't know that "Celebrity Rehab" or Dr Drew existed until I googled them just now.

I KNEW I wouldn't regret getting rid of my TV...

Conway had been thumbing his nose on that living/dying tightrope for many years. Sooner or later fate says, "OK, have it your way. You win."

Condolences to his loved ones (if he had any left).
20
@16 And here I thought I was the only one who remembered him in that...
21
Sadly, one of the greatest talents of the twentieth century , Gil Scott Heron, also passed away yesterday. Why does Jeff Conway gets the obit in the Stranger instead? Shame, shame, shame.
22
@21
This week a bunch of soldiers died in Afghanistan or some other warzone. This is The Stranger for chrissakes, watch Access Hollywood if you're concerned with dignified reporting.

Please wait...
