Guy makes sense on alot of policy, but then goes off the deep end rather quickly. Having the repeal of all gun laws, all drug laws might be nice, but its not worth the elimination of Medicare or Medicade.
2
This is fantastic news. The more the right is fragmented, the better.

Paul/Nader 2012!!!

(Or as I like to call it- the fringe, crotchety old guy ticket)
4
And here I thought his Presidential campaigns were just a way to raise big money for this Congressional races.
5
People who disagree with him still often hold up this bizarre "he's the only honest guy in Congress" thing, like we should respect him for being so open with his bad ideas. I don't understand that at all.
6
Best case: RP's hell-bent fixation on capturing the White House leads him to head off a run as a major 3rd party candidate, the Pautards siphon votes from Romney, ding, Obama wins handily. Then! Obama spends his 2nd term's political capital being really, really progressive and standing up to the Rethuglitards! Right? Right? Yeah, probably won't happen...

"Shat" is such a good word.
8
He's gone coocoo for president! Coocoo! And all the little coocoos chase after! Coocoo!!
9
He's positioning for a 3rd party (LP or independent) run.

All I want is a split GOP
Candidates, maybe more than three
Who run against one We,
Oh wouldn't it be luverly?

See Ron Paul running strictly Lib
Palin (Bachmann?) running crazy glib
Watch them all fudge and flip and fib!
Oh wouldn't it be luverly?

Oh so luverly sitting abso-blooming-lutely still
We need only lock down one in three
For our fifty state plurality to fill!

No one head for the GOP
Authoritarian anarchy!
No one could scare the free!
Aow!
Wouldn't
It
Be
Luverly!

Luverly?

Loverly.

Oh god finally our libertarian messiah has come to save us from the beast of tax burdens ;_; I'm going to get his name tattooed on my ass.
12
