Not really since their aim was to more to delay than win and on that they succeeded getting another much to campaign.

Janice Hahn won in California, too, keeping the seat that Jane Harman held Democratic.

@1, that's the main thing there, I've read. Forcing a primary to extend the campaign torture of decent Democrats.

The saddest This American Life in a long time was talking with the Wisconsin Democrats who couldn't believe the sea change they'd witnessed, from neighborly disagreements to 24/7 castigation in just a year.

@3, the sometimes-annoying Cokie Roberts made that (as it relates to D.C. and Congress) the major theme of her Betty Ford eulogy.

Without deceit, Republicans have nothing.

and soon the democrats can roll back 10-20% of the destruction the republicans have leveled upon their state & everyone can claim we still have a legitimate democracy. i for one, love kabuki theater!

Also noted that not one of the Republicans spoke out against the Fake Dem plot when it was announced. It's the same as Ron Johnson refusing to denounce the secret money aiding his campaign instead of promoting full-disclosure.

Perhaps this will awaken people as to how bat-shyte insane the Republican party has gotten. Unfortunately I've seen plenty of people fall right in lock-step with "crazy-as-a-loon is the new normal" mentality.

rob! @4 thanks for that - I'll look it up. I find I do tend to prefer people who are sometimes-annoying...

@10, I forgot to include the link--how annoying!

@7:

I'm not sure that what the WI GOP did was illegal, which if true would leave no grounds for the Justice Dept. to get involved.

OTOH, does anybody know how many millions of taxpayer dollars the supposedly "fiscally conservative" WI GOP squandered by forcing a recall primary instead of allowing this to go directly to a general election? That to me is the issue that should be framing this, not the delay itself.
13
WI GOP = SLEAZE
14
@12 Each primary cost the state a minimum of $200,000.

@15: You always say big scary things, but never have I ever seen you cite a source.

Please wait...
