She's not going to run, but I'm sure she'll do something today to keep the speculation going. She's all about the attention.
2
Sarah Palin will always be an obnoxious celebrity and public speaker without an actual role in government to back up her talk. The only thing that will change are the words she uses in the process and whether they describe a hopeless aspiration to the president's office or not.
3
No.
5
Please keep the speculation going Sarah. The republican party needs you. Really. They do. Your greatest gift would be a vaguely worded statement that you're still thinking about it, sort of.
6
I would like to start the speculation that "drop dead date" means this is the day she kills herself.
7
Oh, you and your lame stream media bias! She really meant to say that she's forming a think tank to consider the possibly of starting an exploratory committee to examine the pros and cons of running a fund raiser for a presidential suite in the Hawaii Hilton, where she'll consider whether or not to enter the race for the cure of homosexuality, and once all that's done, she might decide to move into the White House. Got it?
8
well if you read the link, last night on fox she declared that "despite her own words, she probably won't make up her mind today"
9
@6 beat me to it. We can only hope, we can only hope.
10
I'm still betting on her pulling some stunt that she will spin with a "blamestream media" and "political elites" line, and then forming a vanity party around her PAC. She'll grab a lot of Tea Party support, as she'll tack hard in that direction. The tour bus is part of that plan. Hell, this is already happening at a certain level.

As for the "stunt", perhaps she'll try to enter a primary right at the deadline, and will get denied by that state's GOP elders. Something to force the other candidates and the media to comment on her. She then has some standing in the race, and can declare that "the people are tired of the same ol' thing", and therefore she must run as a plastic populist.
11
@9 - I don't actually want her to kill herself. Can you imagine the Reganesque sainthood she'd achieve if she died today? Yeesh. No, I just want to start the speculation.
12
Hear me Sister Sarah Palin!! Come home to Me!! Come home to Me!! The day has arrived for your "reward".
13
in her mind, she's been president for a long, long time.

running for actual office would be so much busy work, she's got to have somebody else who could do that for her...
15
Why do they keep calling her "Governor" Palin?

She didn't complete her term. She wasn't assassinated.

She quit. Bail'n Palin.

I think she abdicated the honorific along with abdicating her responsibilities to the people of Alaska.
16
@15: i still don't understand her reason (stated or actual) for quitting.
17
Not to make it sound less fun or even, god forbid, make her seem "smart," but a drop dead date is a court docket term. Borrringggg.
18
@16 - Money.

It was the one smart thing she's done.

The writing was on the wall as for her governorship: the ship was sinking fast with all the other states and she knew it. She would be stuck behing a desk doing wonky deal making with no glory and lots of failure.

But as a VP candidate she had a taste of the spotlight and all those TV offers were on the table with expiration dates ticking away.

That' all she ever wanted—to be a star.

Two books. Two TV shows. A Fox pundit paycheck. Movie deals. Speaking engagements. Not to mention her "Presidential Bid Exploration Fund."

She's made out like a bandit. Which is exactly what she is.
19
@18 - She isn't a bandit - she's a grifter in for the long con. Palin doesn't actually steal money, she gets her marks to give it up willingly.
20
I loved her recent quote on Van Susteren:
[I]s a title worth it…does a title shackle a person? Are they–someone like me who’s maverick, you know, I do go rogue...

Do titles shackle you? Not ones like maverick and rogue, apparently...
21
Oh, by the way, also from C4P (I feel so unclean...):
[O]n Freedom Watch with Judge Andrew Napolitano on Fox Business....she basically ruled out an announcement within the next 24-48 hours to meet the “end of September” deadline some have inferred from her previous statements.
22
@6 and @9

Please, you are being far too literal about the "drop dead" date. It's clear that she's already been replaced by a badly programmed robot duplicate.

Battery life issues, maybe. Political suicide, doubtless. But not actual euthanasia.
23
The liberal bias of conservative non-mainstream blogs like Red State is all the proof you need of the mainstream media's liberal bias.
24
Do we really need another republican whore running for president?
25
Ahhhh... Apparently, you missed the memo on the rules of the Sarahverse, which are something like those for Alice's Wonderland, only umm... more comprehensive.

Only Sarah can set the rules for her Sarahverse. She can change them at any time. However, all rule changes are retroactive, so they were always the rules, from the beginning. Ditto for the so-called "reality" that the lamestream media are so fixated on. And, you can only quote her saying the thing she's saying now, not anything she said before, because that's just a gotcha distortion of what she meant. Got it?
26
Oh PLEASE !!! PLEASE !! PLEASE run Sarah !!

Please wait...
