To be fair to the roommate, why should he have to leave? They're the ones starting a new life, they can get themselves a new place to stay.

@1: Even if the surviving victim bought the condo back in 2009? What would be fair to the roommate would be giving him until the end of the month to find a new place to live. But now the roommate doesn't have to worry about that or rent.

Hey Unpaid Intern ...

Iran actually didn't shoot down a drone ... they targeted one (allegedly) and they have been showing stock photos of another company's now defunct product

Here's what I consider good news in the war on chicanery:

SEC Is Investigating Marlins Stadium Deal

The U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission has opened an investigation into the public financing deal behind the Miami Marlins' new ballpark.

SEC officials delivered letters to the city of Miami and Miami-Dade County Thursday, requesting financial records, meeting minutes and communications with the team and officials from Major League Baseball, according to a person familiar with the matter. Miami and county officials have until Jan. 6 to deliver the documents.

The federal regulators will examine nearly $500 million in bonds sold to fund the ballpark and the financial deal struck for stadium parking garages, according to the county and to a statement from the team.

Occupants,

Want to support something positive?

Support the SEC.

Well, at least now we know for sure what McKenna thinks about teachers. He's tried to play the stealth candidate on so many things, disguising his true intent and thoughts. This action speaks loud and clear - he'll be pulling a Scott Walker/John Kasich if he gets elected. Not that I'm surprised, but this was really a dumb move on his part if he wanted to at least give the impression he gave a shit about education. Instead he gave the teachers the finger and unzipped his pants for the big business groups to give him a blow job as they all salivate over the money they'll make when he privatizes education. The good thing is that he just pissed off several teachers I know who are Republicans and probably would have voted for him, but now will not. They're pretty vocal too...

Fortunately, many teachers know who Uriah Heep is, and they're unlikely to vote for him, regardless of their political persuasion.
...[Uriah Heep] is one of Dickens' most memorable characters. The extended metaphor of his “fishiness” and coldness works well and creates a character that might cause some readers to feel a few chills up the spine.

@5, a Publicola commenter Trevor noted that by scheduling an endorsement announcement to immediately follow the candidate forum, WEA signaled to McKenna that they had no interest in anything he might say at the forum, that his attendance would merely help them highlight their support for Inslee. McKenna is a dick, but what candidate in his right mind would show up just for that? I hope the rank and file are confident with the strategy of guaranteeing that if that asshole wins office he will fuck them over that much harder.

Rob "I'm going to double education spending with magic accounting" McKenna didn't ride that horse very long...
9
@7 They always schedule an endorsement announcement afterwards. That's the purpose of the delegate meeting - to hear from all the candidates, vote on who to support, then make an announcement. There was nothing different about this one - McKenna chickened out and then started the spin.
10
WEA will endorse Inslee why would Mckenna even waste his time showing up?

11
@10, WEA may endorse Inslee but that doesn't mean that all teachers would have favored Inslee. This might turn them, but then McKenna knows he's got it sewed up, with even Dems blaming the current Dem Governor for everything. He doesn't need teachers.

Please wait...
