"The Gun" an account of the AK-47, origin & history by C. J. Chivers

"Lost in Shangri-La" an account of an airplane crash & rescue in New Guinea during WWII by Mitchell Zuckoff

"Babe" a biography of Mildred "Babe" Didriksen-Zaharias by Don Van Netta. Probably the greatest athlete to come from the USA.

Lark, i failed to read marable's book. will read it in spring.

I loved the sections on bees in the Origin of Species. I'll have to check out this Voyage of the Beagle book.
