Glen Greenwald is a hack and a joke, and obviously has a deep seated rabid hatred of Obama that ruins his writing. He not so long ago tried to support/defend Ron Paul, while not having the backbone to actually own up to what he was doing. He cannot be taken seriously.

And that moon landing? Totally fake! They did it in a movie studio!

And Lee Harvey Oswald did not kill Kennedy all by himself; it was a wide-ranging conspiracy that included the FBI, the CIA, Vice-President Johnson, the Mafia, the Cubans and New Orleans homosexuals!

Thank God that somebody is finally telling the truth!

The two versions of events that the Mother Jones story is painting as soooo divergent as to require some kind of further explanation, are actually remarkably consistent as far as descriptions of combat operations go. Both have the seals entering the room with Osama and 3 women, two women are moved out of the way, one lunges at the Seals and is moved aside and then Osama is shot in the head and chest. Why all the hang up on who exactly fired the shots and who these women were? It doesn't really matter does it?

I'm still scratching my head over how much excruciating detail became public so quickly.

see also: Aaron Swartz' public records research, resulting in the U.S. Government claiming that records of the midnight raid were lost.

Whatever. This debate will last the century. I'm just glad we have a president with brains and gumption. Something we lose if Romney should win.

Well, it didn't take 40 minutes, it took 25. When they were planning the mission, it had an expected completion time of 20 minutes. This is per Leon Panetta, just after the assassination took place.

Even now, with time to prepare, when discussing the assassination mission, Panetta stumbles through the series of steps that would have needed to have taken place for bin Laden to have been captured and secured in prison so that he could have been interrogated and put on trial.

For some reason, the video that I watched that day with Panetta is no longer on Youtube (or, I can't find it, and I distinctly remember watching it...I may have saved a copy and will search it out)

They called it a capture/kill mission, but even Panetta said two days ago that it was always likely that bin Laden would be killed.

There is no evidence that he resisted in any way. For all we know, he was a crazy fucker who claimed responsibility for the WTC to advance his own cause, which had nothing to do with the event.

I seriously doubt that's the case, but what would it have hurt to question him and find out, and also find out some of the hierarchy of Al-Queda, should that organization even still exist as a formal terror club?

Glenn Greenwald is a former (pretty highly paid, from what I understand) lawyer who specialized in Constitutional Law (just like Obama was), and he has broken more of the most important stories revolving around the subversion of the Constitution by Obama AND Bush in the last 6 years than all other news outlets, combined.

Yeah...I don't know who else to vote for, and the more I've read about Stein, the more I find her to fit with my positions on all the issues that matter to me.

I've gotten a bit lazy on the whole carbon neutral thing, and I can't go vegetarian, no matter how hard I've tried in the past (pork chops taste gooood...bacon tastes goooood), so I'm unsure if I fit in with the Green Party overarching ethos, but what are ya gonna do?

Obviously, she's not gonna win this election, but the federal matching funds could be a pretty huge boon for 2016 for her, or another GP candidate.

The party should really focus on a senate or some house seats that are in play so that y'all can get some momentum, though. This ain't New Zealand. The party has no meaningful, positive brand recognition at the moment. You need that before you can hope to win a large scale national election.

Generally spaking, People engage in conspiracy theories because their own lives are so dull. (Although I do think there's more to both of the Kennedy Assassinations than meets the eye.)

Osama Bin Laden is dead. I don't care how it happened. If you want to talk deaths of horrible people, I think the story of the Hitler bunker is much more interesting. Lots more booze and sex.

Their conspiracy about thr gulf of tonkin turned out to be true. Sometimes people engage in these things because the pieces don't add up.

@ #13 - re-read my post. Greenwald lost any credibility by embracing Ron Paul and not having the backbone to say he was embracing Ron Paul. Of course you may be a rabid irrational Obama hater as well, and if so, then by all means enjoy his articles. Basically he's pandering to people who hate Obama, and passing himself off as the beacon of light and truth.

Please wait...
