I thought V/H/S was terrific all the way through. Didn't really notice the bad acting in the killer in the woods segment, because it's so appropriate to that type of movie. And it also had a perfect explanation why all the kids in those sort of movies are so obnoxious, and why they never seem to be the kind of people who would spend time with each other: they were invited as bait--who else is she going to invite? People she actually likes?
V/H/S was decent. The worst part, for me, was the shaky cam motion sick feeling. I got almost as nauseous as I did for Blair Witch. The main difference is my brain shut down at the midpoint in an act of mercy.
That being said, the rampant misogyny was weird but the Skype and the haunted house one were the best. Film Crit Hulk did a really interesting write up on it.
