My must one have a vagina to be qualified to fill this position?
2
"Why" not "My"
3
And if you get drunk and your vagina talks too much, is that still a bad thing?
4
"kick-ass"? how professional.

I'm all pro-female visibility and such, but I think the search process shouldn't explicitly exclude men. Hosting shouldn't automagically exclude a whole sex.
6
@1 Women are generally smarter and more interesting.
7
It could be because the other CW&P host (Brian McGuigan) is male. They may be seeking some gender balance.
8
@7 If thats the case, its OK. I thought CB&P had one host the last time I went. *shrug*

Specifying a desired sex for applicants is not OK in Washington State. Even in a case where there is a male in an equal position. We have non-discrimination laws here. They are clearly discriminating in favor of females for this post.. There are exceptions to accommodate religious or social requirements relating to contact between people of different sexes but this job wouldn't meet those standards.

Sparkly? Nope. Literary-inclined? I like reading genre crap, so nope. Kick-ass? Nope. Woman? Nope. Informative? Nope. Funny? Nope. Charismatic? Nope. Humble? Nope. Imaginative? Nope. Brief, above all else? Nope.

I'm out! Next!

@9, I can't find an RCW or otherwise official source describing the exemptions you mention, but "social requirements" seems pretty broad on the face. Why do you think an employer couldn't decide to have both a male and female employee so that any male or female client/customer might feel more comfortable having someone of their own gender available?

Oh, and it's an unpaid position....so I'm not sure laws relating to "employment" non-discrimination would apply anyway?

Please wait...
