OMG A PIT BULL RUN FOR THE HILLS!! AAAAAHHHH!!!
2
Police probably didn't even look for a suspect. They prefer their suspects sitting down whittling.
3
I hope they catch the guy and neuter him via pit bull. Or better yet thousands of tiny bites by tiny dogs.

Well, sometimes the stereotypes are true.

A witness corroborated the victim's version of events, but the police report doesn't mention finding a suspect.
The "but" transition doesn't make sense here. It's linking two unrelated subjects.
9
Maybe we need to license dog owners instead of the dogs.
10
The police didn't find a suspect because they didn't look where they know he is...under a bridge or in "the jungle" high on meth with a vicious dog.

We can tell from his mannerism that the owner of the pit bull raised it with love and tenderness and trained it to be nice to strangers. It's really unfathomable what could have possibly led to that dog being so violent when he has such a peaceful, polite owner! Clearly it must be the genes.

2nd rock attack in Seattle this week.

Troglodytes.

14
Clearly, then, we have to ban rocks. It's the only way.
15
@14 rocks are probably protected by the 2nd amendment. Plus the NRSA (national rocks and sticks association) would argue there's already ready too many rocks out there to do a ban.
16
If you outlaw rocks, then only outlaws will rock.
17
@12...Thank you! And umm...exactly. D-bags like this guy don't deserve to have dogs. Infuriating!! I hope the little dog recovers quickly...and his owner too.

When there's a new toy on the market, and a dozen children out of 250,000 who own the toy choke to death on it, it's promptly recalled and responsible parents make sure to keep it away from young children. Let's say the toy's been on the market for a year -- it's extremely unlikely that your child is going to choke on it. Still, most parents don't want to take that risk. The benefits of the toy are slim in comparison to the risk, however small it may be.

When it comes to dogs, that prudent wariness goes out the window for a lot of us. They cast a magical spell over us. Invariably when one of these pit bull posts sets off an argument on Slog, someone brings up golden retrievers and some study that says they're just as, or more, violent than pit bulls. This is a useful argument because nobody can imagine banning Air Bud. He's the All-American dog, and if you ban Air Bud you have to ban all dogs -- and that is never going to happen. Our anger needs to be pointed at dogs for being so goddamn lovable that they trick us into endlessly apologizing for them with every statistic we can pull out of our ass.

Good thing the dude with the little dog wasn't carrying a gun.

Please wait...
