Why are we bemoaning the expiration of the payroll tax cut? It ties directly to keeping Social Security afloat. If anything it should (and probably will) increase as more Boomers start retiring. I haven't been "taking home" that extra 2% anyway, instead diverting it into my 401k. For the future, y'all.
@5 because it shouldn't be coming out of the pockets of those who are most impacted by it. It should be coming out of Microsoft and Amazon's pocket -- two companies infamous for tax dodging.
If these giant companies based here actually paid their taxes (like Microsoft B&O -- http://microsofttaxdodge.com/), we would have no tolls on 520, a free ride zone, and not taking money out of paychecks of those who need it the most.
Definitely agree with your points, Swedgin; I should also say that the income cap should be raised or plain lifted altogether. That would be such a huge shot in the arm.
