Why is it so hard for some people to criticize a woman without going for an insult about how disgusting her vagina is? Ann Coulter is a genuinely appalling person, and there's plenty in her tweet and her politics in general to comment on without going to the "snakes in the vagina"/"unbelievably dry" vagina place.

@5 Exactly. What kind of person looks at Ann Coulter, and the most insulting thing they can think of is "Man, I sure wouldn't want to have sex with THAT?" There is plenty of room to attack her as a horrible person without resorting to gendered insults attacking her sexual availability, of all things!

Coulter's job is shocking people. She's simply doing what she gets paid to do. Eventually she'll stoop to "nigger" or "Jew belongs in the camps" or something and she'll have crossed the line, but right now she's just doing a little dance with Zeno with it.

We've been in desperate need of a Dan-Savage-like term for people like Coulter and Limbaugh who make a (substantial) living by just being culture shock jockeys. Consider that from their point of view they are consistently rewarded by making these statements. As far as they are concerned their only goal is to approach the Michael Richards limit but not cross it. (and if they do cross it, they can just go into hiding for a little while and re-surface on Fox)

All the while you're eating this stuff up like it was candy. If Ann Coulter didn't exist you people would have to invent her. Show a little gratitude.

I second Shane Nickerson's sentiment (whoever he is): I look forward to Sarah Palin throwing a total shit fit on Fox over Coulter's choice of words. She will no doubt denounce Coulter, because Sarah Palin is a patriotic woman of integrity, who would not let the public use of a derogatory term applied to mentally disabled people (like her son) slide just because the speaker happens to belong to her own party, especially when she's using the invective against the lawfully elected President of the United States.
