So what happened to all the code issues that were supposed to have been too expensive to fix and too legally important to ignore? Was that overblown, or did some deep pockets (and/or hard work) fix the problems, or what?

@1 The new owner got a permit from the city to open up while the building is being brought up to code, probably to help pay for said repairs.

This little place can be very successful if run by someone who knows what they are doing.

fantastic news!! this makes my day, i hope they show some archival films as well.

kinda crappy that the landlord backed out of a deal with non-profit SeedARTS for the space though in order to take on a commercial operation.

Hopefully, they'll schedule movies for grown-ups as well.
