Finally some action...
While there should be more options for banking nearby, Union street has been in desperate need for some energy input. at one point recently 3 out of 4 corners were vacant. There is new construction happening all over the city but there is still a neglected hole in the ground here. I am so happy to hear that there is revitalized interest in this corner. It is so nice to hear more than lip service about making something happen on Union.

I gotta say - at a moment when almost all stories about banks involve maximum profit and minimal community benefit, it's kind of heartening to see a bank selling out to a non-profit developer. Even if their business was slow on that corner I'll bet there was a lot more money to be made selling to some mega-bucks concern. Key did a good thing for the neighborhood.

If Harrell wins the mayoral election, will he have the victory party at his Bellevue Townhouse?

it is 2 minuntes by car to Bank of America and Banner Bank at 14th and Union. And there is a chase bank at 23rd and jackson, BECU credit ATM at 22nd Safeway. I think we will be OK in the CD for banks.

Please wait...
