Your last paragraph essentially says candidates with strong egos become president. Well, that can be said for the current president, the one before that, the one before that, the one before that, and so on.
So what really is your point here Goldy?
2
@1 Um... that is the point. Not every point has to be profound. I just found it funny that Santorum and Gingrich each thought the other would agree to play second fiddle.
3
Gay Dude For Raindrop doesn't exactly see things like most of us, Goldy. Irony for starters.
4
GOLDY'S BLOGGING ISN'T PROFOUND ENOUGH! TO THE PITCHFORKS!
6
I think they would say they are Narcissistically Gifted.
7
I love the line that this would have changed the course of history. What a trainwreck that ticket would have been, regardless of who was on top. Good one, Goldy.
8
In other news, Fukushima is still melting down. Funny how Goldy no longer thinks it's the end of the world.
9
Yeah, "impaired" in the headline makes no sense given the conclusion.

Oddly, one of my favorite quotes about politics is from Jay Leno in The Playboy Interview:

"Politics is show business for ugly people."

...and the GOP is still going to have an issue with placating their right flank. If some members of the GOP throw up their hands and say "can we stop talking about gay marriage for an election cycle and concentrate on economic issues?" there will be a splinter group which will take away a core section of their votes.

I don't feel sorry for the GOPs ills, they chose to lie down with this batch of rabid dogs, now they get to scratch the flea bites.

I'm with @6. Narcissists aren't lacking in self-regard.
13
@10 I've heard that quote many times, but didn't know the origin. Kinda ironic, isn't it?
14
I think Alexander the Great probably did a couple spins in the mirror and thought himself exquisite.
15
@14: I think you meant twirls.
16
Hilarious.
