@1 Um... that is the point. Not every point has to be profound. I just found it funny that Santorum and Gingrich each thought the other would agree to play second fiddle.

...and the GOP is still going to have an issue with placating their right flank. If some members of the GOP throw up their hands and say "can we stop talking about gay marriage for an election cycle and concentrate on economic issues?" there will be a splinter group which will take away a core section of their votes.
