I don't think there's ever been a painter whose works suffer more in digital or photographic reproduction than Pollock's. I remember thinking back in art-studyin' days that Pollock was "overrated" and rather humdrum -- an impression that disappeared instantly the first time I saw one in person. For starters, they're 3-D objects, not pictures.
But if I had to choose, I'd take the Held, or the Bob Duran, or Chryssa's "Arrow", or Kenzo Okada's "Hagoromo". Or one of the lovely Plop Art chunks, like the Nevelson or Julius Schmidt.
