I sooo hope the new Xbox has some lind of paddle/track-ball controller. I miss that experience.

Paddle games without a true paddle controller, are lame.

25th? Maybe you mean 35th? I think games were more sophisticated than this in 1988.
3
Or apparently the 37th, since 1976 is the year I'm seeing.

@2: Stupid fingers. Corrected now, thanks!
5
@3 It's the anniversary of its release on the Atari 2600, which was in 1978.
6
Oh man, I played this obsessively.
7
The original version at the arcades and as a stand alone definitely pre-date 1978.

I would also be extremely skeptical of the 1978 date for the Atari 2600 version, but that seems to be the on-line consensus. Getting old sucks, everything starts to blur together.

Don't stop to ask

You've got to find a way
Say what you want to say
Breakout

Yeah, you're welcome.

@ 4/5, no worries, and thank you.

Thank You @8, I was thinking the same thing...just can't remember who sang it without the googles.

I just want some images related to Atari Breakout! Why does Google gotta make this so hard!

My first score was only 300.

I hate that they made the ball round instead of square.

Most of the results are now recursive screen grabs of the game-ified results page.
