Haha, I know you've used that title line before, but I get a good chuckle every time. So fucking true.

There is so much important truth in this...

Still, does anyone believe really believe that what Church attendants are hoping to secure for their children is in any way equivalent to a Denny's meal?

Delusional or not, these people believe they are trying to save their kids; in that respect it's more comparable to a hospital.

I don't know if it would be illegal to bring your kids to a hospital if rape and institutional cover-ups were as rampant in health care as in religion, but it is an interesting question.

Admittedly, I know Dan is really using this to expound on the horrors of Denny's food, or the $54 million in payouts they made or somesuch, not trying to examine the risk analysis parents make regarding Church abuse.

A 70 year old convicted sex offender of a minor isn't going to last long in prison. Some of those other convicts have children who are minors. And SOME of those convicts were convicted of violent crimes.

Enjoy your immenent shanking, Paster Daley.

But, but Imaginary Sky Daddy will save those kids better'n Dennys!
5
Dan, have you responded to your trolls' arguments about this being equally in public schools? I think that might be helpful to counter that argument.

Do a search and replace of "Denny's" with "daycare".

@3 - I have long found it troubling that an integral part of our criminal justice system is the post-conviction sexual assaults and beatings. We seem to revel in the idea that the people we convict of crimes, rightly or wrongly, will be subjected to sexual violence and/or be stabbed/beaten/killed.

Not sure I'm comfortable with rape being a tacitly approved punishment for any crime.

Wait wait wait. That's Luray, VA! How can they bring charges against this POS if Cuccinelli hasn't managed to make BJs a felony yet?!
9
Prisons are full of Christians. He'll feel right at home. He can convince them he's been forgiven by JEEEEzzzass! Then he'll demand they give him their money and they will.

The Cooch hasn't gotten around to protecting children from molestation by pastors yet. he's still working on protecting children from the b.j. happening behind closed doors across town!

@5: I don't know if Dan has, but I can: Public schools do not have a decades-long record of complicity and secrecy w/r/t child molestation/sexual assault. If a sexual assault is reported at a public school, chances are the teacher/staff member will be removed immediately pending both an internal and a police investigation. If a sexual assault is reported within a Catholic diocese, the accused may be transferred, the investigation will be strictly limited to the church (if it occurs at all), and a public accusation is likely the only path to recourse for the victim.

Please wait...
