I was prepared to not like this, as an example of entitled excess .... but that kid was just so damned happy, and had obviously worked hard on his routine. Mazel tov, Sam.
Why couldn't he just have become a fountain pen, like all the other nice Jewish boys? Of course, in this case, he would have been a limited edition Mont Blanc, but still.
It is seriously excessive, he just looks like a rich Jewish kid who may or may not be gay. He might look gay from the perspective of Kent High School, but from a big city like Dallas, not so much. Anyway who cares.
@20 - Whether he's gay or not, it's reassuring to know we now live in a world where a 13-year-old boy with such stereotypically non-masculine behaviors and traits can not only publicly revel in what he loves, but have it produced and catered by his parents with their implicit approval.
Unsurprisingly, it turns out he wants to be a performer. He's already been on a PBS kids' show and done a few commercials. He even has an agent, of course.
@29 This has nothing to do with being disgustingly wealthy. It's just a bit of upper-middle-class overindulgence. By contrast, the disgustingly wealthy just accumulate wealth, or spend it more quietly. To do something like this, Sam's parents most probably have an income of at least $250/K year, which is nothing to sneeze at, but it's hardly CEO class, or hedge-fund Romney stuff, let alone multi-generational Bush-like money, all of whom make at least 20 times that.
Kid has weird parents, though.
(Oh, never mind. I'm just jealous.)
Dance on, princess sparkle pony.
what is this i dont even
Not sure whether this supports or negates my point, but here's the companion piece.
