People who see money as the solution are indeed poor.

However, the pretty paper with ink on it can be bartered to create an exchange like Kiva where the poetry readers can sponsor poets that they find and enjoy in the foundation's database. In this manner, a little seed money with a little help from everyone can yield a bountiful harvest for all.

How many poets in America earn a living from it? How many poets have EVER earned a living from just poetry? I'm guessing the answer is "none". Robert Frost taught; Walt Whitman was a government clerk; Wallace Stevens sold insurance. Even the greats of earlier times -- Milton, Shelley, etc. -- either had jobs or were born rich or both. Poetry is a hobby, not an occupation.
