Is the Union Bar a Unionized bar?
2
Yes! Things by where I live!

RIP Orcas Landing, Afrikando Afrikando, Ba Ba Bala Fashions, and most businesses that ever exist in Hillman City.

Also, Hillman City was named for a grifter who sold property he didn't own out at the end of the streetcar line when it came this far out from town.

I've seen them working inside a lot, I'm glad it's final done. I'll be heading down in an hour.

Did the intersection of Orcas and Rainier ever get liberated from the JESUS IS LORD "church" that was occupying that beautiful storefront on the NW corner?
5
actually I think Goldy is onto something here. it was hard to not wince when reading that name.

@Jackie Treehorn...you know Afrikando Afrikando is now just up the street as Afrikando Banadir? Rainier Ave &...Dawson, maybe? Same lovely chef/owner.

@4 Yes. The space is now the new home of Community Arts Create and Valley and Mountain.

Anyway, just came back from the Union Bar. It's a no gimmicks, reasonably priced, comfortable looking neighborhood bar. Burgers, juke box, full bar, six beers on tap, $4.50 a pint. Happy to have it in the neighborhood.

This bar is not affiliated with the restaurant workers' union.

I went there last night for a drink with my wife. I give the place a big thumbs up. A welcome addition to our neighborhood!

Eyman's pizza is great. BOO ON GOLDY.

The Jesus Is The Only Way...heard a rumor that the space is soon to be repurposed. So long and thanks for all the fish...

Please wait...
